Please forgive me for the currently horrid layout of this comm, but apparantly something went wrong with my internet provider. It seems my entire webspace has disappeared, which also means that I lost my website for now. Luckily I still have a copy for my website. For the layout of this comm however... I seem to have deleted that file already. So, as soon as I can get my webspace and website back I'll see what I can do to create a new layout for this comm. Until then you'll have to be satisfied with this. Sorry. :o)

ETA: After a gazillion angry phonecalls it seems they 'found' my webspace back and with it all the contents. However, if I try to get the layout to work again, it doesn't show up completely. Well, it's something already. I'll try and work on it a little more later on.

I loved working with you propinquitine. I hope we'll do this again sometime!

For this challenge I based my artwork on propinquitine's story, who then used my artwork to write a suitable ending for her fic. The idea of the challenge was to give the colours a leading part and that's what we did here. We chose blue, red and yellow as our most important colours and went with them. As you can see, I also used illustrative typography.

As inspiration for this challenge we chose the astrononomy picture of the day from 13 July 2008. For the art many other astronomy pictures and resources were used. You will most certainly see that I 'borrowed' some elements from Dali's surrealistic masterpieces. :o) As for the title-- well, let's just say that I was getting bored with all the Earth-like planets the team visits. What if a planet was radically different from Earth, surrealistic even?

He's the head scientist in the city of Atlantis, works closely together with the gorgeous Samantha Carter, and is in a hot romance with one of the city's botanists Katie Brown. When Katie unexpectedly dumps him and Sam begins an affair with his biggest rival, Rodney begins an extensive study of female behavior to try to find out what makes women tick. His "research" leads him to the discovery of a new theorem. A theorem to predict who is his perfect match. Author's Notes: This is somewhat of an abstract(ish) artwork made for reel_sga. The prompt was the romcom 'Someone Like You' and the art developped when I started thinking about Rodney doing research about women and love in general. I figured that -being the mathematical genius that he is- he'd want to create a theorem to finally find the one person that's right for him.

I realise that the math in the equation is wonky at best-- probably even horribly wrong in some places, but it's not a real equation and -when you think about it- it's a very insane way to find the love of your life. So yeah, go with it. :o) I'm a fangirl, not a mathematician.

Okay, first of all-- thank you for all the great suggestions and requests for coverart in my previous post. The work is going well and I'm still dilligently working on icons of all the different shows that were suggested, two more coverarts and a banner/wallpaper, but since three covers are finished, I decided to already post them.

Okay, I find myself in somewhat of a dilemma. I have some spare time coming the following days and I'm really in the mood to create some icons and other artwork. The only thing is-- I'm not quite sure what fandom or non-fandom stuff I should use. I'm already contemplating some SGA stuff, that's a given since I'm deeply in love with that show. :o) But for the rest-- I just don't know. There are so many TV-shows and fandoms out there.


So that's why I'm posting this. I have a question for you:

If you would like for me to make icons/artwork of a TV-show/fandom or something non-fannish, let me know in a comment from what TV-show/fandom (or whatever else) you would like to see me making art. And I'll see if it tickles my fancy and inspiration to create something.

Also, more specifically, if you do suggest a certain show, please tell me where I can find screencaps for it. Even better, if you have some great screencaps/pictures lying around from a show (SGA or any other show), actors or actresses. Screencaps/pictures that are just begging to be made into an icon, go ahead and post them here, or post the links where I can find them. And I'd be happy to make some arty stuff with them.

Whatever I create won't be exclusive for anyone, since everything will be shared for everyone on LJ. But everything will be up for grabs for all of you, so that's good too right? :o)


And now for something that will be exclusive and only for SGA fandom, since that's the main fandom I read the most fanfic about:

If you have written a fic and you'd love to see a cover for it, this is also the place to ask me. I've never created a layout for a fic before, but I'm willing to try. :o)
